American server down, European server up

RQuake development server in Ohio is currently down beacause the hard drive developed bad sectors, the server should be back up in a few days.

In other news we now have a development server in Europe (Belguim) thanks to Polarite. The DNS is flanders.servegame.org and the port is 26001. This server will also have the latest version of RQuake as Pol was kind enough to give me FTP access :)

Map testing and update

We've been testing single player maps for the upcoming 1.3 release, thanks to Peg and ORL for helping me find/test maps. :)
Included in the new release will be the awesome episode Beyond Belief - by Matthias "Langsuyar" Worch.

In other news RQuake was updated today.
We're currently at Build 105
Changes:

  • Fiends, Spawns and Zombies are now going to try to hit you even if you're on higher ground

  • Monsters can now be pushed by explosions and damage, the power of the push varies between monsters

  • Spawns can now poison players

  • Grunts will now use their shotgun as a close range attack. Their shotgun is also more effective.

  • Monsters that fire rockets now check that they won't fire straight into a wall, and will use their other attack if they would.

  • Player IP addresses are no longer printed on level exit
We've also switched to Engine-side IP masking (thanks to Slot Zero).
